Monday Monday A&M single 1028

Very observant! This is taken from the UK mono version of BEAT OF THE BRASS. I added some compression and a bit of reverb to simulate the way some of the early A&M singles sounded.

I can answer that with one word: Software!

I always enjoy listening to Monday, Monday but I hadn't heard the mono version in a while, so thanks Harry. Hurricane recovery must be winding down in your neck of the woods!

Well, we're still working on getting our lanai furniture back where it belongs and out of our garage!
At least it's not Puerto Rico. We know someone on another forum who we hadn't heard from in a couple of weeks. Fortunately he was running house partly on solar panels and stored energy in batteries, so he isn't as bad off as so many others are.

Apparently Chicago really like the tune - from RECORD WORLD Feb. 1, 1969:

New Herb Alpert is "Monday, Monday." Broken from the LP
by WLS. As I keep telling you. John Rook is a PD and a half.

A big station like WLS jumping on the song would be justification in those days to consider it for single release and assign it a release number. To get it "out there" fast they probably did plan on using the mono LP mix previously posted.
