A great album - way too long since I've heard it....I remember it being very exciting music; like an extension of the jazzier side of EWF.....

The title track is by EW&F's Larry Dunn, so you're not far off in your thinking. Of course, Herb Alpert covered "Ancient Source" on the Under A Spanish Moon album.

This is such a great album. A nice mix of jazz, fusion, Latin and R&B. The title track covers most of that in itself. The rhythm section is just lights out on this album throughout the entire record. Steve Tavaglione is exceptional on this album as well, especially on "Sky Islands", "Pegasus" and "Carnalvalito". Guitarist Jorge Strunz plays great solos on the title track and "Triste". It's a pity that this album isn't available right now. It deserves more attention!

I have a pretty good needle-drop myself for this so I'm content with that. I would like to try that other Caldera album, though. I have the third album called Dreamer.

Listening to a few tracks via Tidal tonight, I recognize the title track from many years ago. The EW&F is strong with this one. I've never heard the Caldera version until now, but after listening to two other versions on Tidal, I am thinking I remember the Dianne Reeves version that followed this one by several years. Our local station WJZZ likely played it. Ramsey Lewis cut a version of it, and he also had ties to EW&F and Larry Dunn (Sun Goddess and Tequila Mockingbird albums).
