As Time Goes By

The blue skies and bright sun today belied the fact that winter is still the name of the season. It was warm enough to sit outside for some fresh air. Fresh air? Yep, there it was-the tie in to what was on my mind most of the day. Has it really been thirteen years since we lost Julius Wechter on this day? It's still a bit numbing to think about it.
Of course, Cissy, David, and Jerry lost their most cherished husband and father. Three very talented grandsons lost their doting Zayde. Thanks to film, vinyl, and disc, we can still enjoy watching Julius with the Baja bandidos on various shows and still laugh at all the antics (no matter how many times we watch the clips). Now, through a social media, an entire collection of clips, music, and photos can be viewed endlessly (Thanks so much, Steve Sidoruk), almost as if Julius never left us!

My thoughts are with Cissy, David, Jerry, and their families today (and always) as surely this day weighs heavy on their hearts. But, if in consolation, there are so many of us who feel a sense of loss as well. Thanks for sharing him with us. His music, his humor, and his genuine "nice guy" personality gave us all so much enjoyment.

Time passes too quickly when our time together needs to be endless. Memories (and the wonders of technology) allow those we have lost the ability to be with us until the sandy grains no longer fall through the narrow glass that measures life's hours.

    We miss you, Julius.
