Daylight Saving Time again

By an act of Congress, the US will expand its length of time on Daylight Saving Time. We'll now "spring ahead" one hour on Sunday, March 9th, and will return to Standard Time on Sunday, November 2nd.

It's possible that some of your devices that have, in the past, automatically set themselves, won't do that at this time - it's at best uncertain this year. Microsoft has patches for several of its supported operating systems, like Windows XP, etc., and for their Office products. Go to Microsoft.com to double check if your computer is up-to-date.

    Regarding our Forum software
There is no automatic function (that I know of) to set the phpBB A&M Corner board time, so the time might display as an hour off (upper right corner of the main index page).

To set it properly, go into the Profile link at the top of any Forum page, scroll down to the option to adjust your time zone and pick the correct one fow where you live or work.

For me, on the East Coast, I pick GMT -4 hours during the DST period. That means that I'm four hours behind the Standard world-time in Greenwich, England (London time).

Your posts will work whether you set the time or not, it's just that it might not be as easy to tell what time your posts or others were made.

Officially, at 1:59:59 AM on Sunday, we'll skip ahead one hour to 3:00:00 AM.

That's pretty cool that you have the two watches. You don't need to reset it, just wear the other one!

I was watching a little bit of the Cubs spring training game this afternoon, and Cubs broadcaster Bob Brenly had a great line about why Arizona stays the same year-round: "In Arizona it gets to be 115 degrees - there's no reason for daylight savings." :D
