Forum reminder about the Board and Standard Time

This is the time of year in the US that most of us set out clocks back an hour to Standard Time.

There is no automatic function (that I know of) to set the board time to do that, so even though Bill Gates and Microsoft fixed your little clock in the lower right, you might be an hour off on your Board Time (upper right corner of the main index page).

To set it, go into the Profile link at the top of any Forum page, scroll down to the option to adjust your time zone and pick the correct one.

For me, on the East Coast, I picked GMT -5 hours. That means that I'm five hours behind the time in Greenwich, England (London time).

During our summer months, in the States we use Daylight Saving Time, advancing our clocks one hour to give ourselves a bit more daylight in the evening. During that period, I set the Board time to GMT -4 hours to have it be correct.

Your posts will work whether you set the time or not, it's just that it might not be as easy to tell what time posts were made.

In the US, this is the weekend that we set our clocks back to Standard Time. Much of the rest of the world has already done so.

This post serves to remind members to set their "board time" by using the "Profile" button at the top of each page and setting your time zone accordingly.

Set your clocks back an hour, and don't forget to set the board time on your computer. Go to the "Profile" section to do so.

In case your Forum time is an hour off, you might want to change your time zone in your profile to fix it. Here on the East Coast, I've set it to GMT -5 hours.

This little reminder is a couple of weeks late, but better late than never.
