Herb interview

I always loved Mr. A's honesty in his music since 1966, and I love this honest line from the interview: "family is not something I totally live for."

I remember the April 21, 1975 cover of People magazine with Paul McCartney saying "My family is my life, then my music."

It's a tasty tidbit about him, and so honest.

This is probably the most I've ever read of Herb's own comments about his personal life. And I totally get it why he's so private. I don't blame him one bit. While I'm not one to obsess over a celebrity's personal details, I do have a passing curiosity, which has largely been satisfied here in this interview.
It's kinda funny that I should read this article just one day after complaining about people getting too wrapped up in tv programs featuring nothing but celebrity romance, personal drama, gossip, etc. In short, I don't need to know what Herb and Lani had for breakfast. But knowing a bit about his childhood growing up, it sheds a bit of light on how he got started and how it affected his career choice, etc.
