Once again I bought this CD because of Herb Alpert's trumpet contributions, and he played on the two strongest tracks of the album ("Let's Stay Friends" and "No Way Out", with a searing trumpet solo!). This is a very commercial effort by da Costa, almost a pop album in some respects. I have his earlier albums on the Pablo label, the first was a self-titled LP with strong Brazilian influences that featured the likes of trombonist Frank Rosolino. On this album some of the pop tracks are rather unremarkable, but it does close with a very festive "Exotica". A decent effort from the king of percussion.
