For the purposes of improving the Resource, I'll call on members here to list whatever official release dates they have for each Carpenters album. Let's concentrate on studio albums for now and see where it goes.

I made a list of dates that album reviews ran on the various music magazines. I have posted these on the forum but I quickly made a list according to those dates. These are not the large full page promo ad dates but rather the actual album review where they talked about the album in somewhat detail. I think if we had the month and year would suffice but if anyone wants to chime in please do so. I've also added a few other album reviews that ran for some of the other albums or box sets. I'm not sure these are the exact dates but here is when they ran in the music publications.

Richardandkarencarpenter.com has release dates available:

Great catch, didn't even think to look there. I guess with the site never being updated I didn't even think to go there.

What I find odd is how Richard didn't give "An Old Fashioned Christmas" album a spot on that wall of discography. I think it deserves it's place just like all the other albums. I don't like to see it lumped with the Christmas Collection.

That is odd. Notice too, that "Pianist, Arranger, Composer, Conductor" is listed, but Richard's "Time" album isn't!

Both "From The Top" and "The Essential Collection" list the dates as well (except Richard's "Time" album). Such as Richard's second solo was released on March 4, 1997. "As Time Goes By" is given a Japanese release date of August 1, 2001.

Karen's solo has a release date of October 8, 1996, Made In America --- June 9, 1981, Loveliness --- October 31, 1989,
Passage --- September 23, 1977
Live at Palladium --- Nov 6, 1976
A Kind Of Hush --- June 11, 1976
Voice of the Heart --- Oct. 17, 1983
Interpretations --- UK/Canada Oct 3, 1994 --- US Feb. 7, 1995
An Old-Fashioned Christmas --- October 26, 1984 (most likely same date for release of Christmas Portrait Special Edition)
Horizon --- June 6, 1975
Now & Then --- May 9, 1973
A Song For You --- June 13, 1972
Carpenters --- May 13, 1971
Christmas Portrait --- October 13, 1978
Close To You (Single) --- May 15, 1970
Close To You (album) --- August 28, 1970
Offering --- November 15, 1969
Ticket To Ride (single) --- October 1969 (Richard doesn't give a date, just the month in TEC's booklet).

Also there's no mention of "Live In Japan".

Do all of the dates from the box sets agree with the dates on the "official site"?

No. For example the official site lists "As Time Goes By" as August 1, 2002. The site also gives an January 28, 1997 release date for Richard's PACC album, which is over a month earlier than TEC's March 7.
