Hi All,
I think the song from CARPENTERS album A PLACE TO HIDEAWAY is such a gorgeous, heartrending performance by Karen. Those are my favorite types of song sung by Karen. She added such power and raw emotion. I am so glad that the video of this song from the tv series Make Your Own Kind Of Music, was included on the video of Close To You:Remembering The Carpenters. She looks so pretty in that red skirt, white blouse with black vest.
The song showcase a wistful Karen with her simple phrasing. You ache just listening to her performance. She draws you into the song, and you want to give her a hug. I can so relate to this song. I always feel there are artists who can interpret a song so perfectly that you know and feel in your heart that they are not only singing it for you, but that they understand your feelings. The background vocals sound lush and heavenly. Truly this song is marvelous.
