The experimental neo-funk (as opposed to the more truer MG's sound) fails, and the resurrection of what little of the trademark Booker T/MG organ-keyboard work that does get preserved (or, that is: DO WE REALLY HEAR IT???!!!) comes up short... And in turn, neither of the slower boogie or faster romps really work...

The love songs are treacly affairs (as if the duets w/ Priscilla weren't awful enough) & the cover songs (such as the Motown classics, "Someday We'll Be Together", "Ain't That Peculiar", & "I Was Made To Love Her"; Bob Dylan, "Knockin' On Heaven's Door"; and the Eagles track "Try & Love...") are simply embarrassing, if not merely passively, gruesome efforts...

Only redeeming item is "Let's Go Dancing", if only because it one-betters the Rita Coolidge version, (although both are rather unsensational & unexplosive on either count) setting it more in an appropriated Disco setting, than anything else here even tries better to do...

Something else "put out, just to pay the rent"...
