"This album is a toast and a tribute to some of our most cherished national treasures and their vast resources of love, knowledge, wisdom and understanding. It is dedicated to my father and to so many throughout the land who have discovered that youth, rather than time of life, is a state of mind." C.M.

A bit of a "nadir", treated as a turning point... Mangione, by this time had nothing new to offer other than whatever had been previously offered--or at least tried: another "Feels So Good", (this time w/ a vocal by the lukewarm Don Potter), "Recuerdo", (most likely a leftover from Main Squeeze and w/ the band he played with there, is a bit all that churns up any excitement, though there would have been as insignificant as it sounds here), "Cannonball Run Theme", (average quality-movie soundtrack fodder), "70 Miles Young", (a Side-long suite, which despite the up-lifting lead guitars of Spinozza & Tropea, never really gets off the ground), "Lullabye For Nancy Carol", (a sleepy, weary sounding epitaph... The notes which were finally the sad sound of closing the book on Mangione's years at A&M... His career-continuation at Columbia hardly sounded much better)...
