My favorite Squeeze albums are their first three, of which this is the second. It was with their fourth (East Side Story) that the comparisons of Diford & Tilbrook to Lennon & McCartney began surfacing in the music media... Favorite tracks here are "Slap & Tickle" (a Brit euphamism, I'm told, for a certain sex act), "Up The Junction" (a touching ballad that tells a straight-ahead story with no chorus interrupting the narrative), "Goodbye Girl" (which had nothing to do with the movie of the same name that came out around the same time) and the title track, "Cool For Cats", which features some wickedly wonderful word-smithing by Mssrs. D & T.

I love the heavy accent on the title track. :D Really a great album and quite indispensable, one I only really discovered in the past few years.

"She was frigid like a bible when she met her boyfriend Michael.." :D
