Brothers Louis "Thunder Thumbs" and George "Lightnin' Licks" Johnson worked with Billy Preston and Quincy Jones before recording their highly successful debut album for A&M.

SP 4567 entered the Billboard Top 200 on March 6, 1976 and charted for 49 weeks, peaking at # 9, according to Whitburn's "Top Pop Albums."

The opening track on this album is one of the best singles of the '70s. The flip side was "Get The Funk Out Ma Face" (there is no "of" in the title) which became a favorite in its own right and still gets airplay on the XM 70s channel - I heard it yesterday, in fact.

The rest of the album must have been forgettable because I can't remember a thing about it.

Their best song ever would be later on -- "Strawberry Letter #23."
