Last weekend, the mailman brought me the Dave Brubeck Quartet's classic Columbia album Time In.

Musically, it's a pretty good entry in the Brubeck catalog. My "play over and over" track is "Lost Waltz"...it's one of those great openers that demonstrates why this Quartet is one of my favorites.

I'm curious to know if anyone has the vinyl version of this one. This CD sounds decent, but my LP is out on an extended loan. I have problems with two tracks. I have sound samples of the problem areas--I wanted to see if anyone notices these flaws without me specifically pointing them out. Here are links to two sample MP3 files, at 320kbps:

"Lost Waltz"

"Cassandra"

What flaw do you hear in "Lost Waltz", and what oddity do you catch in "Cassandra"? I do NOT recall the problem with "Lost Waltz" being on the LP. You may have to right-click these and save locally to play them back.
