Over the Memorial Day weekend,I rented this film by Fernando Trueba originally released in the US about 2 1/2 years ago. It is basically a love letter from Fernando to Latin Jazz through studio performances by many stars like Tito Puente and Paquito D'Rivera. The A&M connection is primarily that there is a selection and brief interview with Gato Barbieri and the ghost of Dizzy Gillespie smiles over the artists. I don't remember anyone discussing this film in the old forum,so I thought I'd mention its existence. Rather than go further,if you've seen this or heard the accompaning coundtrack(s) on BlueNote, feel free to give a brief review. I'll chime in later...Mac
