"Carpenters: An Illustrated Discography": New Book by Randy Schmidt

I keep seeing posts on Instagram for this book which consist of a series of pictures with one line quotes across each one. Will there be any longer narrative about the individual tracks on each album as well?

@carpentersbook on Instagram: “PRE-ORDER NOW: http://carpentersbook.ecwid.com/ MEET THE COMMENTATORS: Chris Tassin is a New Orleans native known for his portraits and…”

YES! Those quotes are just tiny snippets from the discussions of each of the albums. To get an idea of what the book will be like, take a look inside these books, which are very similar in layout and style:

I don't think @Mark-T is a Facebook guy, so I thought I'd better bring this here to share . . . We are spotlighting the 33 commentators for the new book (a few each week) and today is his day! The post reads:

MEET THE COMMENTATORS: A fan of Karen and Richard since first hearing “We’ve Only Just Begun” in 1970, Mark Taft saw the Carpenters perform live in Las Vegas during their 1976 tour and had the pleasure of meeting them backstage. Taft is the founder of the Insights and Sounds blog. He is also an international tour guide, husband, father, and grandfather and resides in Colorado.

BTW#- I want to add how hard it was for me NOT to share with you all here about my involvement with Randy's new book. But it is his labor of love and a project he should share about how and when he wants to.

We may all be real life strangers, but I consider you my friends. My bet is we all would be if we knew each other in person.Trust me, iIt was a difficult secret to hold on to. And I do wish I would be with you in CA next month, but I have to leave the country for work.

Me neither! I think the folks on the West Coast celebration will get their copy before my complimentary one (Courtesy of Randy- Thanks again!) comes in the mail.

Randy L. Schmidt's CARPENTERS An Illustrated Discography was released on Saturday, April 27th at the CARPENTERS 50th celebration. What a true must have for all CARPENTERS fans! It's a beautiful book with fascinating interviews, unique memorabilia pictures from collections around the world, and stunning unseen pictures of Karen & Richard. What a wonderful gift to CARPENTERS and their fans to help celebrate 50 years of magic! My autographed copy now adorns my coffee table. Thank you Randy for this amazing new book!
