Carpenters songbooks

I have VOTH piano book, it contains a beautiful full page photo from Karen’s solo sessions. It’s on the photo thread.

Sorry my bad that solo photo was in the Carpenters Complete Piano Book Vol 1 which I also have.

Well, I positively love "Now," "Make Believe It's Your First Time," and "Look to Your Dreams." And enjoy all the rest, so I think she would be proud that she brought enjoyment to some of us.

I've still got mine, as well. I remember being thrilled by that solo shot in the VOTH book. The songbook was mentioned in one of the newsletters. Evelyn said the book featured "an unusual picture of Karen with shorter hair". Amazing (and sad) that those solo shots were still so well-hidden at the time. But, at least they were 'new' to us when they finally did surface.

These songbooks are great, they obviously spent time in putting them together to include photos.

It makes you wonder why they changed up the track listing? Of course the first song wouldn’t have made for a lead in on the album.

Chris, this is mint copy, you should send to Richard to have him sign it for you personally.

Here's the Love Songs songbook published in '98, and Christmas Portrait songbook from 1985.

Why is there 'Love Songs' and 'Carpenters' two times? Such a Bad design.

I guess this book is called: 'The Carpenters Love Songs, Love Songs Carpenters'

Same here, that cover is awful. Right down to the way they've shoved 'The' in front of the logo at the top. The only reason I can think it's also there at the top is to ensure its title was visible behind other songbooks it was sitting behind on the store shelves.

Damn, Rich and Karen were cursed with bad covers 😂

The LOVE SONGS book cover looks like it was a combination of the album cover:

...with a title also on top so it would be readable as one thumbed through books in a rack.

I always thought the LOVE SONGS CD cover was rather classy with its silver and black on white. It sold well, that's for sure.
