Her music career really tapered off once she did her couple of A&M albums.

It was cool to see her resurface on a Four80East track (which I think I posted elsewhere here):

She guests as a vocalist and wrote the lyrics.

"Inside that I Cried" justifies her whole existence. Amazing tune and she sings the fool out of it. I also love "Keep on Walkin'". The title track is a dance classic period.

Oh wow, I didn't know that C.C. did a duet with Four80 East! Four80 is one of my all time favorite groups! Folks, if you are all tired of the "$mooth jazz", and you an alternative to that sound, yet want your music "contemporary"; music that takes you back to the 70s and 80s with groups like Return To Forever, Miles' fusion period, Grover, Sanborn, Metheny, etc, then Four80 is the group for you!!! They are major chance takers, adventurous musicians, and innovative as all get out!

As for C.C., she sings the heck out of this tune; a song that is needed in these most troubling times. Her music may have "tapered off" as Rudy said, but she's managed to keep herself busy in the last few years. She even managed to star in an independent Christian African American movie called DON'T TOUCHED IF YOU AIN'T PRAYED. She not only acted in the movie, but also manages to sing in it as well. Good to know that she's still singing, and it's even better to know that she teamed up with Four80East!

Yeah, that little EP went right under my radar. I looked at their site earlier this year to see if they had anything new in the works, and found out they'd had three album releases since 2020 (Straight Round which was an all new recording, Cherry-Picked that compiles a handful of tracks from 1997-2015, and Mixed Up which are remixes they've done of their own tunes), and I never knew about the Four on the Floor EP from 2018, which is a total throwback to the dance music of the 80s with their own twist. Ce Ce Peniston fits in perfectly!

They're no stranger to remixes since they've remixed for a long time as the Boomtang Boys, prior to Four80East, working with a lot of popular Canadian artists. I had some notes here from February, including hamsters:

The title track was a hit during my middle school days, when it came out. I liked it then, and still do.

I recognize the title track, but just barely. It apparently got enough play in Philly that even I, who didn't seek out this type of dance music, managed to hear it.

Today, I find that it was included in the A&M 50 three-disc set.

Meanwhile on another multi-artist label compilation called THEN & NOW, the track "Crazy Love" is included.

Karma.

Just heard a cover of "Finally" being used on a TV commercial for Kroger supermarket delivery service.
