Does anyone know how the number of Carpenters compilation albums stacks up numerically to other artists?

mir seems to me that they would be near the top of the lists with so many released.

I bet that for a career that spanned 14 years only, they surely are among the top 3 when it comes to compilations.

I believe if anyone has more, it would be Elvis Presley. I've heard that RCA has reissued his stuff many times over the years in many forms, but not being a big fan, don't know for sure.

Is there any breakdown as to how many of these compilations are US releases and other non US releases?

That total number might include each variation and label configuration for each album released. But, it still sounds way, way off for both Carpenters and Elvis otherwise. Carpenters have roughly 10 compilations in the U.S., counting both boxed sets. And that’s a lot right there!

Just counting what's on the Resource, there are a little more than 60 Carpenters compilations, and that doesn't count the many compilations issued throughout the 70s on LP around the world.

How many Beatles compilations might there be???? In my day, I only bought one Beatles lp and that was Let It Be. It was in a cutout bin for $1.97.
