A&M-adjacent—-it appears an album is coming next month with a cover inspired by 1973-ish CTI covers:

Most specifically, Gabor Szabo’s RAMBLER:

Not only that, check out the label for the digital single:

"Samba do Sueño" is a Cal Tjader song, performed on both Along Comes Cal (with the arrangement by Chico O'Farrill), and the Bamboleate album he recorded with Eddie Palmieri. The Chris Bangs version is based on the O'Farrill arrangement. 👍

Well I'll be...

There actually is a 45 RPM release.

If it wasn't over $12, I'd get it. Probably can get the album, when it comes out, for not much more than that.

That single is quite catchy. 😁 He has the title track posted on YouTube:

"Soccer Samba" (the B-side of the single I posted) is not on the upcoming album, though, and there is no indication on the label that it is an album track.

Here's a single from his last album. He's apparently big on retro-looking labels, and this one even has used-record grunge and Sharpie writing added for effect:

The flip side riffs on an old Atlantic Records label. Even a price tag is part of the cover art.
