It might be of interest to some that Dame Shirley Bassey is currently working on a new album with Nick Patrick, who produced 'Carpenters with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra'. Scant details at this point, but it's apparently a retrospective with new material added. Could turn out to be another 'Philharmonic' project and, of course, Shirley recorded several Carpenters tracks in the 70s. Due for release in November.

In its defence, 'Hello Like Before' could have been great with a top producer. It became known for its bad mixing job, even though it was recorded at Abbey Road with a major orchestra. Sony ballsed it up and it's still quite unbelievable.
