December 2018 Rememberances

By the way, my late mom & dad had the 45 single of "Ruby Don't Take Your Love To Town" along with "I Can't Stop Loving You" by the late Ace Cannon back around 1969 or 1970. Matt Clark Sanford, MI

Jerry Riopelle, who recorded in 1967-69 for A&M with his group The Parade ("Sunshine Girl") and was producer for many of the label's early releases, died 12/24/18 at age 77. He had an active solo career with ABC and other labels since the early '70s and performed regularly in the Phoenix AZ area as long as his health permitted.

His production credits included Brewer & Shipley's debut album (SP 4154), 'RETURN OF' We Five ( SP 4168), Shango ( SP 4195) and Stuffin' ( SP 4235). The Parade recorded more singles but their album (SP 4127) from 1967 remained unreleased until 1988 when it was issued as a Japanese import CD. A later reissue included bonus tracks.
