I Know My First Name Is Stephen

Hi guys

I don't remember where I read this, but 'In Love Alone', featured on Richard's solo album in 1987, was originally meant for Karen. Written in 1982, Richard had apparently been waiting for a chance to play it for Karen, but never got her near a piano before she died. At Christmas 1982, she was invited to a party he was throwing; he had planned to play it for her there, but the weather out was apparently awful, so she elected to stay at home.

I always thought that story was really sad; shame Karen never got to record or even listen to it. Dionne Warwick is on record as having said it's one of the hardest things she has ever had to sing, and still finds it difficult listening to it now.

Any others people want to share?

Stephen,

I have heard this story too. I think it was in the Ray Coleman Book. And yes, very sad that Karen never got to hear it.
