Jaco Pastorius Documentary

I finally got around to getting the documentary DVD Jaco, which is about the life and sudden demise of bassist Jaco Pastorius. It was produced by Robert Trujillo, who is the bass player for Metallica. It talks about his life growing up in south Florida, playing with various bands - including a Tijuana Brass cover band - and his rise to be with Weather Report (and the issues he had with Joe Zawinul), to his mental health issues and his eventual beating that caused his death. Lots of old photos, videos and interviews by various musicians that include Sting, Carlos Santana, Joni Mitchell, Herbie Hancock, Flea, Wayne Shorter, Peter Erskine and others. It's kind of sad how he died and how he never got the help he needed. But a very interesting documentary to watch.
