Owner-breeder Moss appointed to California Horse Racing Board

Longtime owner and breeder Jerome Moss was named to the California Horse Racing Board by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger on Tuesday.

Moss, 68, is a resident of Los Angeles and along with his wife, Ann, he has campaigned horses, including 1994 Kentucky Oaks (G1) winner Sardula and Grade 1 winner Kudos.

A co-founder of A&M Records, which became the world’s largest independent record company before Moss sold it to Polygram in 1990, Moss, who purchased his first horses in 1970, now serves as chairman of Rondor Music Inc., a music publishing company he co-founded more than 30 years ago with Herb Alpert.

I thought they sold Rondor, or is this just another example of the lazy press?

Maybe, like A&M, they sold it but still run it for interim period of time. Just a guess...
