This is a wonderful album by John Pisano, and aptly named. Pisano teams up with (mainly) local L.A. guitarists for a friendly session of straight-ahead jazz. This is not a cutting session by any means, but a dialogue between the various guitarists. It's nice to hear a couple of these guitarists out of their usual elements. Lee Ritenour is a good example of this. Usually Ritenour's solo albums are of the smooth jazz dreck, but here he gets his jazz chops out for a stroll. Pisano also contributes several original tunes as well, the best being "Blues For Joe", a tribute to his old mentor Joe Pass. My favorite track overall is the swinging "AM/PM" with Joe Diorio. But there's not a bad tune on this whole album. If you've never heard Pisano outside of the Tijuana Brass days, then you definitely need to seek out this CD!

Never heard this album, but I sure would like to.

You can get it pretty cheap on eBay right now. I saw a couple for around $5-$6.

When I met Pisano a few years ago at one of his Guitar Nights gigs I got him to sign a copy of this CD for me.
