This is an album I hadn't listened to in a while. This is a very frenzied yet highly musical adventure. Playing in different time signatures, or switching styles within a tune (like "One Word", which is stunning) are quite common on this album. John McLaughlin's guitar and Jerry Goodman's fiddle are a great compliment to each other. Jan Hammer sets several textures on most tunes. He plays a gorgeous piano on "Thousand Island Park", with McLaughlin on acoustic guitar. Billy Cobham is just nuts on drums. These tunes can get crazy on you at first, but I'm still in awe when I listen to this album.

This one is still on my bucket list--I have it but haven't cracked into it much. I'm still wrapping my head around Apocalypse.
