Meh...

I got ahold of this one and gave it a spin. It does have a lot of energy and some great playing but, as I've found with some other percussionists' records, the songs are not all that memorable and I really can't remember a thing about it after a first listen. An overly busy production does not help the proceedings either--at times it seems as though there is too much going on in the mix.

Manolo was once a member of Weather Report and also recorded many albums with the likes of Ahmad Jamal, Steve Khan and Bill Evans (saxophonist), and was sideman on many other albums throughout the years, including Main Event Live by Herb Alpert and Hugh Masekela.
