Alright, gang, I'm pretty new here, and unsure of all the protocols here, but here goes:
I'm interested in the percussion sound in "Miss Frenchy Brown." I was totally confused by the sound when I first heard it, 40 or so years ago. I liked it, but I wanted to know what it was. In my advancing years, and after picking up bits and pieces of knowledge, my best guess is that it's a claves or woodblock strike that was recorded separately with a ton of reverb, then reversed somehow, and dropped into the tune where it was needed.
Anyone else have a better guess, or actual knowledge?
