As everyone here knows, this month sees the 50th anniversary of A&M Records. The first disc to be released on A&M was Herb Alpert's "The Lonely Bull" which was recorded on 29th October 1962, so on 28th and 29th of October radio six international have a non stop 4 hour special spotlighting 50 years of Herb's recordings in 50 Years of Brass on Sunday 28th at 14:00 GMT (2pm UK, 3pm Europe, 7am Pacific, 10am EST) and on Monday 29th at 00:45 GMT (12.45am UK, 1.45am Europe, 5.45pm Sunday 28th Pacific, 7.45pm Sunday 28th EST). Immediately after that, we'll be giving another airing to the one-hour conversation that Tony Currie had with Herb Alpert and Jerry Moss at Herb's gallery in Los Angeles. Talking Tijuana can be heard on Sunday 28th October at 18:00 GMT (6pm UK, 7pm Europe,11am Pacific, 1pm EST). And on a more general A&M note, the weekly edition of The Lively Lounge that airs over that weekend will feature a variety of A&M artists, including Herb, Julius Wechter, Waldo de los Rios, Pete Jolly, The London Stereo 70 Orchestra, The Carpenters and Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66. The show airs Friday 26th at 19:00 GMT (8pm UK, 9pm Europe, 12 noon Pacific, 2pm EST); Saturday 27th at 10:00 GMT (11am UK, 12 noon Europe, 3am Pacific, 5am EST); Sunday 28th at 21:00 GMT (9pm UK, 10pm Europe, 2pm Pacific, 4pm EST) and Thursday 1st Nov at 06:00 GMT (6am UK, 7am Europe, Wed 31 Oct 11pm Pacific, Thu 2am EST). I've given the times in great detail because that's the weekend when the clocks change in the UK and Europe. You can find all these programmes at www.radiosix.com of course.
