Just got a “new” vinyl today. Arthur Fielder and the Boston Pops play the Carpenters Songbook. Excited about this. Going to clean the vinyl in the next couple of days and then give it a spin.
It’s one of many Carpenters tribute type albums from the 70’s. Ironic that they did the PBS special with them too. Most are kind of lame though. Especially the Young Lovers album of Carpenters songs. The newest one is the Klaus Hellen Tanz Orchestra, ballroom versions of Carpenters hits from 1997. It’s hilarious. Available on iTunes. Only Yesterday samba, Kind of Hush cha cha, Goodbye to Love waltz, Love Me For What I Am tango, Hurting Each Other rumba. 16 bizarre remakes that will have you rolling on the floor.
