Never heard of these guys until this issue.

Sparsely produced by Gly Johns and Chad Stewart, this is a marvellous album featuring solid songwriting. It's notable that two very well known Englishmen came to the US to produce an American duo who were assumed to be up-and-coming recording artists at that time.

Though this duo might have been a one-and-done, there is a later A&M album with Craig Nuttycomb as a solo.
SP-4683 (This one from Discogs looks a bit ragged. I have a cleaner copy in my also-ran record box.)

This one was also produced by Glyn Johns, but with Andy Fairweather-Low listed secondarily. Needless to say, I've never listened to this.

I see that it was also released on a Japanese CD - twice, so it must've gotten some action over there.

Here are some notes from correspondence with Mr. Nuttycombe I had in 2002. I ordered some solo discs from his website. He signed some sleeves and generously penned a story in the inner gatefold.

Also note the front and back of the 2nd N&C album on 20th Century from 1973. It was not issued by A&M but had been proposed to be SP 4285 titled WAIKIKI.

Wow! Thank you for sharing. Craig's story of Wally Heider's mobile unit recording of the LP was interesting and fun to read. Thank you again for providing this fascinating information.

Wow. I never realized there were two different covers to this one... I halfway expected the other cover to be "Nuttycombe and Lambert"

Actually this is the only A&M gatefold that bears the "SP-logo-42XX" in a rectangle on both front and back.

Ah! Nor did I realize it was a gatefold...

This is one I don't have (though I have Nuttycombe's solo LP)
