Chad Stuart (Chad And Jeremy) as producer??
Yep, same Chad. According to Wikipedia, he was a staff producer at A&M after he and Jeremy split up in 1968.

I started to audition this album but had to end it after about 3 songs: not very melodic, too noisy and monotonous; and I simply do not like the singing. Stuff like this does well to exhibit the the late '60s/early '70s shift in rock: vocal harmony in rock groups (e.g., The Who, The Beatles) were being ditched left and right for the emerging guitar and/or lead vocal centric efforts.

Discogs shows this as the group's only release, although there are other bands named Tarantula.

Never heard a thing from this album, but I barely remember seeing the cover before.

This is one that I own! Not a bad album from the middle of a run of strange one-shot releases, most of which I haven't heard.
