This is the version of that song that was a hit in the UK:I remember a song called "Save Me"...( take me away from the action) or something along those lines. Really loved that track.
I really liked Beverly Bremers' album I'll Make You Music. I bought it from the cutout bin many years ago and still have it.Also the song "We're Free" by Bevely Bremers from 1972.
Thanks! Already on my third spin!Nice looking LP. I still have some original Nancy Sinatra albums in my collection, but not specifically NANCY & LEE.
However, some of the very best tracks are on her GREATEST HITS album. My favorite was always "Summer Wine" and also came to love "Some Velvet Morning" - Lee's singing in 4/4 while Nancy's parts are a waltz in 3/4. An amazing track.
After digitizing the LP, I sought out a CD as I heard that "Summer Wine" was lengthened on THE HIT YEARS CD. It is indeed about 30 seconds longer with an instrumental fade. The LP's "Summer Wine" has both Nancy and Lee singing on just the right channel with the orchestra centered. The CD version revises the stereo soundstage to put the vocals in the middle and the orchestra surrounding.
Another favorite Lee/Nancy track is "Jackson".
Enjoy the LP!
I first heard Some Velvet Morning on the radio way back when I was about 12 or 13 and loved it. The haunting music was great. I never found the album until many years later and have picked up about 4 copies of the lp. Light In The Attic is also supposed to do a release of Nancy and Lee Again and I want that on CD. I did find Nancy and Lee 3 when it was released and I like that one as well.I had to share this!
The 1968 duet album between Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazelwood has been reissued and remastered on a variety of formats coming with a 20 page booklet containing unseen photos and a new interview with Nancy. Today I got my copy on Sundown Gold vinyl and it is stunning! Light in the Attic have done a superb job of remastering this to give it a fresh, clear sound. IMO one of the best albums of all time, would definitely recommend a listen, an unlikely duo but a perfect match. How cool is this?!
