Can't say this set does much for me. Brecker's endless noodling on the first cut turns me off to the whole thing. This lineup with the saxophone(s) doesn't work well for me, I'm afraid. Some are fans of this one though--just not my cup of tea.
 
I'm in the exact opposite boat. I find this an extremely exciting venture for Metheny. He gets out of what was his comfort zone at this time and he feels right at home with these jazz giants. Drummer Jack DeJohnette is solid on the shile album (love Metheny saying "Wooo, Jack DeJohnette man!" at the end of "Turnaround"). Brecker is incredible on "Every Day", which is a gorgeous piece. Metheny closes things out with a very thoughtful "Goin' Ahead". A superb album!
