I know that this book has been mentioned here before, but it was not until this summer that I got around to reading it, during my vacation in Italy. Even though it could be seen as somewhat disappointing that there are few mentions of A&M Records and the A&M people, it is truly an amazing book which should be read by everyone that loves music the way we do. Q is a unique and wonderful artist and his most important solo work was released on A & M, and the book gives great insight in his life and career and also of many of the people he has been working with, from Lionel Hampton, Count Basie and Frank Sinatra to Michael Jackson and Steven Spielberg.

I was at Borders yesterday, and saw a new compilation of Q's that combined his A&M material with his Qwest/WB stuff.
