Opinions on Lani's Brazil Nativo cd and Edu Lobo disc produced by Sergio, recently reissued on Verve? Good,Great,OK???

A crossing over question--Herb's last two discs Passion Dance and Colours have a song or two w/Lani on vocals. I have only heard excerpts. What do you all think of these efforts? Critics have been kind.

Any one but me think that the song "So Many Stars" would have made a great James Bond theme song? Maybe because it reminds me a bit of Ms.Sinatras "You Only Live Twice" song from the Bond film of the same name...So Many Stars doesn't sound like a Bond film title, but it may still work since Octopussy had All Time High by Ms.Coolege. (Yes, I know Lani sang Never Say Never Again, but that film is a black sheep of the Bond fanatics..)

Rambling or reflecting? That's what Sundays are for...I think"Beba" from PASSION DANCE is one of Herb Alpert's finest efforts, and Lani's vocals play a part in that. The video is pretty well-done, too...wonder who the girl is?"So Many Stars"DOES remind me of "You Only Live Twice" now that I think about it, and I wonder what Lani could have done with that tune had she had the chance. As far as James Bond films go, I only have 3, CASINO ROYALE, NEVER SAY NEVER, and GOLDFINGER, which is in a class all by itself-as far as I'm concerned. I think that NSN was the best photographed Bond film, and I really liked the score...so many of the Broccoli Bond films depend on that DUMMM>>>DUMMM>>>DUMMM>>>DUMM string ensemble pattern with the brass "jabs" in between[I KNOW it's the theme, but come on...} every time there's some action on the screen, but NSN succeeds without it. Monty Norman may hate me,but I'm tired of that riff over and over again...
