He sure did...
That's correct. At the time I took these, the Satellite had been stripped down because Richard sold the car, then decided he wanted it back! Some modifications had been made to the car during that time, so Richard stripped it and rebuilt it.
I have the rebuilt pics that Richard's mechanic Daniel sent me someplace but not sure where I put them. Note Mom and Pop Carpenter's initials on the license plate
The Karen Carpenter Story it's an official release ? Regards
Yes. It's a Japanese LaserDisc, officially released.
Mr. Harry, was this movie ever available on DVD in Japan?
Since playing LaserDisc is a proesa of the past ... Regards
just bought this off ebay .......... never seen one.

^^I have a CD that is very similar to that cover but mine is red colored with the same picture but mine is titled "their greatest hits"
There are multiple iterations of that CD. It originally was titled ONLY YESTERDAY and was later reissued with THEIR GREATEST HITS, white cover in the UK, red cover in Germany. I suspect there are others as well.
Only Yesterday – Their Greatest Hits
There it is! Karen's 350!! AWESOME!!! This collection HAS GOT to be on our itinerary for the 50th anniversary celebration. God bless you Richard Carpenter.
South Africa had a 2 volume collection. Vol. 1, Only Yesterday (white cover) and Vol. 2, Yesterday Once More (blue cover)
Volume 1 had the same track list but volume 2 had tacks such as I Nee To Be In Love, A Song For You, I'll Never Fall In Love Again, All You Get From Love Is A Love Song and Ave Maria.
I’ve never seen or heard of these companion South Africa versions of this release. Does anyone have the tracklist of both? If volume 1 has the same tracks as the standard UK release, why would they repeat All You Get From Love Is A Love Song on volume 2?
Ignore me, I found the answer. The South African version of Only Yesterday is shorter. CD2 features some lovely album tracks. I love the juxtaposition between tracks 4 and 5 on the second collection. I Just Fall In Love Again followed by I'll Never Fall In Love Again

I'm sure there will be mention somewhere in the forum but I've just watched a clip with Karen playing the drums singing Superstar. It was part of a collection of "rare" clips. I have to say I much prefer her standing front singing that particular song. Looked quite early 70's.
Was it this?
anyone have this in their collection, as I`ve never seen this till I bought it a few days ago?
That’s a new one on me. Obviously not an official release but I’m sure Richard would approve of the cover photo
Is it the actual tracks, or are they done by an imitation group?
it`s another Japanese cd;
Interesting to see I’ll Never Fall In Love Again sat amongst all the hit singles.
Just another unofficial compilation thrown together, this time in Japan.
Yes thanks that's the one, I had never seen it before.
You are quite welcome. God bless Carol Burnett, she had the duo on a few times. Here is one you might like (if you haven't seen it). Richard on Carol's show granting a teenage girl's wish:
Gosh, I'd forgotten all about this intro part of the episode! I remember feeling quite envious of the girl in the audience. Thanks for sharing that clip!
Other CDs and 45 discs
1. Golden Stars (Germany)
2. Karen Carpenter Cd Single "Make believe in your first time"
3. Japanese 45 "Someday"
I passed up the chance to buy a sealed copy of this years ago and still kick myself. I’ll get it one of these days.
The Japanese often went with some off the wall choices for 45. This is a great example. I’ve never heard of this track having been released as a single anywhere until now.
