My Opinion on the Album:

This is an okay Album, it's not one of my favorites, but i still bought it, because it has some good sounding songs, i listen to this Album as background music more, all of the songs are kinda for background music to me (not all songs though, like: 'Love Will Keep Us Together', 'The Way I Want To Touch You' and 'I Write The Songs')

The 'Love Will Keep Us Together' Album overall feels really cozy (and a little ''cheesy''?).

My Review of the Songs:

  • Love Will Keep Us Together
The Song that made Captain & Tennille famous, awesome song, i really like the piano/keyboard in this, and how the keys change, i prefer the verse over the chorus, awesome song!

  • Disney Girls
The Song name is kinda odd for me, but the song is alright, it's a really soft song, i love the ending to this song.

  • The Way I Want To Touch You
Another Captain & Tennille Hit, awesome melody, catchy chorus, really good song!

  • Cuddle Up
The Melody is okay, i like the Piano and Instruments in this song.

  • The Good Songs
There's nothing really to say about this song, the Melody is kinda boring, it doesn't have anything special for me, except Tennille's Vocals.

  • God Only Knows
Great Cover! I really like the Keyboard that you can hear in the Intro and 2nd Verse.

  • Honey Come Love Me
Good Melody, soft and catchy song, the verse is good, and the chorus is great!

  • Feel Like A Man
Good Piano and Melody, the chorus is alright.

  • Broddy Bounce
I always skip this song, it's a weird instrumental song made by Daryl (Captain) for one of their Dogs.

  • Gentle Stranger
Good song, i like the Melody and Vocals, i like how the song gets stronger, as it continues.

  • I Write The Songs
The Piano, Melody, Lyrics, and Vocals are all awesome! It's a great way to end the Album, what i don't like about the song though, is the intro.

Daryl was a keyboard player for the Beach Boys in the late 60s and early 70s.

"Disney Girls" is from the Beach Boys' 1971 album Surf's Up. It was written by Bruce Johnson, another non-Wilson brother who joined the Beach Boys in that era:
Keith Badman's 2008 book on the Beach Boys has this about "Disney Girls" (the full title of which is "Disney Girls (1957)."

"Disney Girls (1957)" is a nostalgic reflection sung from the viewpoint of a man who rejects reality in favor of the nostalgia he felt towards the fantasy world of the girls in Walt Disney movies and television shows, songs by Patti Page and the days he made wine in his garage, enjoying lemonade in the country shade. Johnston said that he wrote the song "because I saw so many kids in our audiences being wiped out on drugs" and he had wanted to capture the feeling of an era in which people were "a little naive but a little healthier."

Here's the Beach Boys original:

And Art Garfunkel covered it on his "Breakaway" album, which came out a few weeks after the Captain and Tenille album:

Bruce Johnston also wrote that song. Barry Manilow had the hit with it in early 1976.

I liked the "Broddy Bounce" instrumental but Toni Tennille's dog-trick-commands in the middle (Sit! Lie down! Rol-l-l over! Good boy!) ruined it for me. I haven't heard it in many a year.

A much better similar song is "Going Bananas" from the following album "Song of Joy."

I always thought a Captain & Tennille instrumental album could have been fun, what with his keyboard wizardry.

Wow, after reading this, 'Disney Girls' is one of my Favorite Captain & Tennille songs! Thanks!

I actually prefer the version of "Disney Girls" by Art Garfunkel. I like the arrangement better than the one by Captain & Tennille. Interestingly, Toni Tennille sang backup on the Garfunkel version along with Bruce Johnston who wrote the song.

Yeah, that's my favorite too. In fact, Breakaway is a really good album on the whole.
