ROWE-AMI “Play Me” Records

I have tried to search the Forums but can barely find a mention of the two Rowe-AMI "Play Me" Sales Stimulator disks issued with the voices of Herb Alpert (1004) and Julius Wechter for the Baja Marimba Band (1011). These were issued in 1966 to promote record play on the Rowe juke box. The AMI machine had a special timer mechanism that cased the machine to play one of the tracks after a certain amount of time of inactivity.

Hi Paul,

I *have* heard the Herb Alpert version; I even have it in my computer somewhere, but I've not heard the Julius version.

The Herb record is on red wax and issued as a 45 rpm and a 33 1/3 single as well.
