Ahhhhh!!! :o Doesn't that figure?? I'm going down to the casinos TODAY!! Just planning to play a few slots and hit a buffet. Why can't he be there today?

Hey HiFieer!

What part of Southern New Jersey are you in? I live in a town called Audubon. It's close to Haddonfield, Cherry Hill, not too far from Camden, etc.

I saw Sergio and Brasilxx earlier this year in Elgin, Illinois, but I'm ready to see them again. I just moved to Orlando, Florida. Anybody knows if he's doing FL?

Thanks HiFiEER!!

No, I hadn't read the other thread, so thank you for the "Head's Up". What great news!!

Have you ever been to the Blue Note before? Does anyone predict that these tickets will be difficult to obtain?

I would love to see Sergio live for the very first time in my life. I hope it works out with my work schedule!

Hey AfterSunrise!!,
Just in case you didn't see the other "Sergio Coming East" subject post. Sergio will be at the Blue Note/New York February 7th thru February 12th, 2005.

Hi Kenny--are Kevyn or Michael going to be on this tour at all?

Every January for the past few years, Sergio plays the Blue Note in New York City for about a week. I've been fortunate both to have seen him several times in a week and to have Jon "BrasilNut' with me on one of those memorable occaisions!

I'll betcha anything he comes to NYC in January 2005.

For those in the central Texas area, Sergio will be appearing at the One World Theatre in Austin on Sat., Feb. 26 for the OWT's annual fundraiser. I hope y'all are sitting down: Tickets are $500. (For which you get dinner, open bar, silent auction, and dessert/meet-n-greet after the show.) Yow!

We saw Sergio at the OWT back in Sept. '03 and he gave a great show, and it's a superb small venue, but regular cheap-seat tix for that were only $40. Guess I'll miss this one...

Capt. Bacardi should be able to swing that easily with his postman holiday tips!

wondering if the ad copy was a typo and it's really just $50

No typo. I called the OWT box office to confirm.

guessing he'll just sit at home with a cheap bottle of rum and spin his worn-out Fool on the Hill platter that evening...

...it would be nice if Kevyn flys out too...as a Special Surprise Guest Artist on Sergio's Birthday...

Dreams are great things, aren't they? I know I was surprised when Kevyn joined the band two years ago at Bimbo's 365 Club in San Francisco. Old home week, because Michael was also there on the drums.

Always a pleasure to see Sergio alumni come back for a performance.

We had a blast, didn't we? Wish I could come out for the February shows!! But, he'll appear in Napa for my Birthday, so I couldn't ask for a better gift. Just wish you could be there too, Paul!!!

First thing Jessica asked in San Francisco a couple of months ago was, "How's Paul? Is he here?" I had to laugh...I guess she has the impression we meet at Mendes concerts!!

Jon

...with fond memories of the Blue Note and the great times had by all...

I wish! I did get $180 in tips this Christmas. :D

I missed Sergio the last time at One World Theater because I had the flu. Sergio was originally slated to open the OWT a few years ago, but had to cancel when the theter wasn't ready. The tix were $150 then. $500? I'm afraid I'll have to pass on that. Now if it were Sergio and Herb's bands playing, I'd reconsider. I do have a friend who is a volunteer usher there, and sometimes she can score me a free ticket. I'll have to check with her.

BTW, the One World Theater is an oustanding place to hear music. I've sat in a lot of seats there and was never disappointed.

I'd gladly pay $500 for a chance to hear Herb and a reconstituted TJB on tour to support the reissues--in a small club venue like One World Theatre. It'd be beans and rice for a few months to afford it, but so what!

Capt., I remember you and Brazil Nut and I were all planning to catch Sergio's last OWT appearance in Sept. 03, but The Nut injured himself and you got sick. Too bad! You missed a great show. Hope you can score a ticket through your contact. I might pay $500 to see Herb, but not Sergio.

Kevin Winard had recently emailed me and he did confirm that he wouldn't be playing at Sergio's Blue Note concerts in February, but that he will be Sergio's Austin concert. Kevin also did confirm that Micheal Shapiro will be the drummer at THe Blue Note, he didn't say anything about Kevyn Lettau singing.

I think it was in 2002, when Sergio Mendes was at THE DETROIT OPERA HOUSE, that it was over $200...!!!! :o

But he cancelled... ...And I almost WENT, too...!! :wtf:

If Sergio had Lani, Gracinha and Karen all singing it would be worth it!

Well, I might reconsider in that event! But what are the odds? I'd bet on a limited TJB tour (remote as that possibility is) before seeing Lani Hall rejoin Sergio Mendes...and if I had only one $500 chunk to spend, it'd have to go to the TJB.
