I have been familiar with this song since I first heard it on AM radio back in about 1967 or 1968. The version that I heard was an instrumental by Raymond LeFevre.
I liked it a lot back then and about 1971 I found the lp by LeFevre that had this on it as a cutout and paid less than $1.50 for it. That copy got lost in the 70's but I played the heck out of it. About two years ago I found another copy and snatched it up.
Recently something made me decide to look at YouTube to see if I could find anything on this song. I found it by the writer, David McWilliams and I truly like his vocal version of the song. I don't know when the video was made but there is one of the studio version and one live version.
There are also some other versions and I have listened to each but I think McWilliams' version is the best vocal version and LeFevre's version the best instrumental.
I never heard McWilliams' version on the radio when it was released but is looks to be getting a lot of views on YouTube.
If you are familiar with this song, please let me know what you think.
