Below is a link to the Music and Fine Arts section of the website of The Great Courses (from The Teaching Company in Virginia). These courses are university-level lecture courses (typically 24-36 lectures each 30-45 minute long) given by professors at major academic institutions, and which are available in audio only, video streaming and DVD form. They can be a tad expensive, but many of them periodically go on sale. In general, they are highly instructive and rewarding and the instructors are knowledgeable and engaging. There are many others areas of study available from Science to History to Economics to Language Studies, etc.

I recently finished a course on the life and music of Mozart and another one on America's Founding Fathers. Next up for me will be a 36 lecture course on the History of the English Language and a 12 lecture course on The Wines of Italy.

As of yet there is no course on the Carpenters - maybe one or more of the "Carpenterologists" here could develope such a course and present it to The Teaching Company for future consideration...
