I was hoping the MONO mix of this would be used for this reissue.
It's an early catchy tune I have always enjoyed....from the original single.
The overdub percusion the make it stereo drives me crazy!...Oh well. I have transferred Acapulco 1922 from a decent, clean mono LP to cd. Otherwise most of the rest of the cd is enjoyable to me. I certainly can tell by listening in the car that listening to many of the tracks on this cd via headphones would not be enjoyable. It's hard to believe the original tape(s) of The Lonely Bull have been lost. But, over the years many "masters" have gone by the wayside. I had the pleasure of meeting Herb when the TJB played a week at the Edgewater Inn in Seattle. 1965, I believe. I was a young DJ at a radio station whose studios were in the Edgewater. He was a very nice, pleasant man. I made a brief recording with him. I have a fun story to relate about Herb that I will post another time.
