We had a thread like this five years ago. With so many new members, I thought it would be fun to try it again. Maybe @Don Malcolm would be kind enough to do an analysis after awhile as he did the first time.

In no particular order:
  • Ordinary Fool
  • Boat to Sail
  • Baby It's You
  • Kiss Me the Way You Did Last Night
  • B'wana She No Home
  • Our Day Will Come
  • Reason to Believe
  • Hideaway
  • One More Time
  • Strength of a Woman
These are the same as my 2016 votes, but I've replaced Desperado with B'wana. #11- Honorable mention to "When I Fall in Love".
What are your favorite Top Ten non-single releases? (I did not include solo album songs from either Karen or Richard.)

Wow, Mark-T, you and I have a lot of these in common!

Here are mine in no particular order:

*Love Me for What I Am
*One More Time
*Where Do I Go From Here
*Kiss Me the Way You Did Last Night
*You're the One
*Strength of a Woman
*Desperado
*Ordinary Fool
*When It's Gone
*One Love

About nine of these 10 never change over time. If the list were the "Top 15" non-singles, I'd add:

*Crescent Noon
*Another Song
*I Can't Make Music
*Heather
*A Place to Hide Away

These additional five are the ones that may or may not alternate on or off the list over the years.

By the way, "B'wana" almost made this list. It's on my Carpenter's Top 20 Playlist on my i-phone.

If I went for 5 more, in addition to 'When I Fall in Love", I'd probably add "Love is Surrender", "This Masquerade", "Desperado" and "Now".

Probably close to release order:

Someday
Nowadays Clancy Can't Even Sing
Crescent Noon
I Kept On Loving You
Another Song
Let Me Be The One
A Song For You
Road Ode
You
Breaking Up Is Hard To Do

No particular order:

Two Sides
Ordinary Fool
Kiss Me The Way You Did Last Night
I Can't Make Music
Honolulu City Lights
And When He Smiles
All Of My Life
One Love
Without A Song (Complete Version)
I Just Fall In Love Again

*It’s Impossible/Someone To Watch Over Me (These potentially could of been on the list "if" full recordings existed.)
*Technically "HCL" was a belated single, so for that reason I will strike that and replace with "Someday."

Mine would be: (in chronological order)
  • Help
  • (A Place To) Hideaway
  • A Song For You
  • This Masquerade
  • I Can Dream, Can't I?
  • (I'm Caught Between) Goodbye and I Love You
  • One More Time
  • I Just Fall In Love Again
  • Two Sides
  • Look to Your Dreams
I don't listen much to later albums, because of these taking up the whole time :) But overtime, I may venture into them, and this list might need an update.

Thanks - I thought I heard or read that somewhere - been watching/listening to the "lyric video" version a lot lately - really good stuff thru the headphones! There's a debate there about whose version is better - Carps are holding their own...2 different approaches, both equally compelling...

Baby It's You (RPO version)

This was one of the few tracks on the collection that were really given the proper RPO treatment. The introduction and violin stabs in the second verse are just sublime. I just wish it had a clean intro and wasn’t segued with Merry Christmas Darling (which I’ve always felt shouldn’t have been included anyway).

In no particular order (and it could be a bit different if you asked me on another day):

Road Ode
I Can't Make Music
What's The Use?
(A Place to) Hideaway
Desperado
Help
I Can Dream Can't I?
Song For You

Tryin' To Get The Feeling Again was released as a single in the UK wasn't it?

My ten are:

Happy
When It's Gone
The Uninvited Guest
Trying To Get The Feeling Again
(not a single in the US)
Let Me Be The One
You're The One
I'm Caught Between Goodbye And I Love You
This Masquerade
Desperado
Love Me For What I Am

mine would be

happy
love is surrender
turn away
(a place to) hideaway
one love
sometimes
sandy
breaking up is hard to do
two sides
sailing on the tide
honolulu city lights

(it's 11 in total hehe)

(I think we should have done at least a top 12, then we could assemble the tracks as an album!)
In that case let me add "Now" (beautiful, uplifting song, but with a sad edge as her last recording) and "Solitaire" (a real downer of a song but absolutely one of her best, full-throated vocals) to my top 10...
