Greetings to everyone,
If you follow Hugh Masekela as I do (I was introduced to him from the two Herb Alpert-Hugh Masekela iconic albums of the 70s, and thus, I had Graceland even before Graceland was devined by Mr Simon with my introduction to South African music, jazz notably - with Masekela, Jonas Gwangwa, and Caiphus Semenya some delicious jazz tune masters!), you may want to know that he has a new record out. Titled No Borders, it's only available digitally in the States right now (Amazon, iTunes; haven't seen hi-res). It is heavily South African and African in content. But, if that' s not your speed there are remakes from his canon and a new tune composed by J'Something entitled Heaven in You, which is exquisite. There's video on YouTtube - I'd rather not link to it as it was sponsored by an automobile company and don't wish to advertise them. Check it out. There are also some interviews of him on some SA news outlets about the record; also some video of the same on YouTube. All best, David
