so a couple of weeks ago a retired Choral director friend sent me a Facebook message. They were cleaning out to downsize and she found “A Song for You” vocal/piano book. Would I want her to send it to me. YES!!!
I have this ASFY music book (pub:Walter Kane & Son). All photos inside have appeared elsewhere.
Perhaps the most interesting thing about it is the Bio on the last page.
The Looking For Love , Karen Carpenter single, is never mentioned.
We read: "year 1966...Spectrum disbanded...Karen had by this time started singing,
under the tutelage of Frank Pooler. Frank detected that the talented percussionist
had a fine set of vocal chords as well."
And this:
"They're sincere, wholesome, unpretentious--living proof that these virtues can survive...."
