Wow! This is a tough one. Given the choices, I guess I would have to give my nod to "We've Only Just Begun". And I choose this because it is one of my all-time favorite Carpenters songs. And, even though I consider "Rainy Days and Mondays" running at a close second, when I had compiled a single CD of my Personal Favorites by the Carpenters, "Rainy Days and Mondays" didn't make the cut, whereas "We've Only Just Begun" did. Had I created a double CD of favorites, "Rainy Days..." would have positively been included.
P.S. and as a bonus selection, even tho it isn't a Williams/Nichols compositions...I consider "Ordinary Fool" as a great piece of work, both musically and lyrically.
