Hey Gang,
Has anyone noticed that on the long version of Without A Song from ATGB, Karen's vocal that begins I've got my troubles and woes...is slightly muted and when Richard comes in he is present and full voiced. I've tried unsuccessfully to "equalize" this. It's such a pretty piece...sounds as though it wasn't mastered correctly. I can't help but think Karen and Richard could've had a hit on their hands had they recorded an albums worth of material featuring Nelson Riddle and his orchestra. Linda Ronstadt did same a few years later and look at the smash she had spawning three lps worth of standards. The vocal arrangement alone on W/O A Song could've garnered Grammy noms and launched a whole new chapter in their recording.
