On another forum there was a topic about Karen Carpenter. One of the questions that came up was did Karen ever record a version of Linda Ronstadts You're No Good. :o Nobody had a definite answer and nobody new when if it was recorded.

Anybody got a clue :?:

Karen never recorded "Your No Good"(That song's no good!).But,she did record "The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress" in 1980-a track that Linda subsequently recorded in 1982.(as far as I know,Karen's recording of "Mistress" is complete).

And of course, Ms. Ronstadt's version of "You're No Good" -- indeed, the early pressings of her final original studio album for Capitol, Heart Like A Wheel -- had an A&M connection, being as the studio did the initial set of lacquers for those records (and, probably, also for her take on "When Will I Be Loved"). The copy I have of Linda's "You're No Good" is notable for the excessive rumble apparently emanating from the lathe used by A&M to cut its lacquers.
